Last Friday, we hosted the second Karvan Cup Latte Art Smackdown, and what a night it was.
24 competitors went head to head across 4 rounds, all chasing the crown. Every pour reflected years of practice, skill and hard work, and the energy in the room said it all. Massive thanks to everyone who came along, whether you were up there competing, cheering from the sidelines, or just popped by to watch.
This year’s event also marked a special moment for us. Last year, our new owners Shaun and Emily snuck into our very first Karvan Cup as guests in the crowd. This year, they were there as the owners of Karvan Coffee, and it felt like the perfect night to introduce them to this incredible community.
Our coffee community never fails to amaze us with its talent and passion. Congratulations to everyone who competed, and a huge congratulations to our winners on the night.
A very special thank you to our judges, Georgia @ggeorgiaellis and Rizky @ponga.edenn, for generously sharing their time and expertise with our community. Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without people willing to give back and support the next generation of coffee talent.
Thank you to our sponsor, Bannister Downs Dairy, for supplying the milk that made every pour possible, and to Kerry Street Pear Tree for feeding us all on the night. And of course, thank you to the entire Karvan team for all the planning, preparation and behind-the-scenes work that made the event happen, especially Shaun and Emily for their support.
Here’s a first taste of the photos from the night, more to come soon.
Thank you all for coming to the second Karvan Cup, we’ll see you at the next one.
