Theobroma cacao is a shade-loving tree that enjoys the good soils and constant humidity of the tropics. The farming and processing of the cocoa pods are not all that dissimilar to that of the coffee beans. Once the pods have reached maximum ripeness, they are opened to separate the seeds and pulp from the outer rind and allowed to ferment and dry.
The region’s farmers are smallholders, meaning they often plant on 1-3 hectares of land. Single Origin Chocolate powder is a premium blend of high-quality cocoa powder and can be enjoyed in baking, in your cuppa or dusted.
Not sure how to make the perfect hot chocolate? We recommend 1 teaspoon of chocolate powder per 100mL of milk. Steam the chocolate powder with your favourite milk, or whisk in a saucepan on the stove. Pour into your favourite mug, serve and enjoy! So delicious and decadent.
