Coffee Chocolate Fudge Brownies with Anne
Coffee and chocolate – do we have your attention?
It’s no secret that we’re speciality coffee fanatics here at Leaf Bean Machine, it’s impossible to not be when working at the Karvan coffee roastery here in Perth! And – like most – we also love a bit of chocolate here and there (and everywhere). So, when Anne brought these brownies into the workplace we were beyond excited.
Fudgey, chocolate-y, coffee-y, and hands down the best brownies we’ve gobbled up. We had to get our hands on the recipe! Anne has been so kind as to share with us the brownie recipe – we hope you enjoy!
*Tip: the coffee and chocolate brownies taste excellent with (yep, you guessed it…) a coffee! We recommend you head down to your favourite Perth cafe to get yourself a delicious coffee to drink whilst you bake.
A little bit about Anne…
Anne works at the front desk for Leaf Bean Machine, greeting all walk-ins as well as those who give us a call. She is in charge of deliveries and makes sure all cafes get their orders. Anne’s a delightful presence full of energy, smiles, and laughs – an absolute pleasure to have in the team.
Alongside speciality coffee, Anne’s passion is baking.
“I’ve been baking since I was 15 years old. It started from just baking boxed brownies and cupcakes. I did it as a hobby. I loved decorating them and making it look pretty, but most importantly and my favourite part is eating it after..” (Anne). Well, no wonder Anne’s always so bubbly! The secret is delicious baked goods… that sounds pretty good to us.
Anne’s passion for speciality coffee in Perth has coincided with her love for baking. She has been in the coffee industry for over a decade now, and the experience shows! If you’ve had the pleasure of enjoying one of Anne’s coffees you will know what we’re talking about. Plus, she’s quite the talk of the town with the impressive swan she can pour in her latte art.
“I’ve been working in hospo for 12 years and have worked with Perth’s coffee for 9 of those years. In the beginning (like many youths) I started at McDonald’s when I was 13. Here, I quickly moved up into the cafe area. Working behind the machine for the first time I saw the basic process of making coffee and I was eager to learn more. I moved on from McDonalds and got more jobs working as a barista at various cafes in Perth. With my love for coffee, I soon became a head barista at a few different specialty cafes before working at Leaf Bean Machine. I’ve been at LBM for almost a year now and my knowledge of coffee beans has grown even more! It has been a really fun year that has taken my expertise to a whole another level” (Anne).
It certainly is a bonus for us when someone at work loves to bake! And, it’s even more of a bonus when they bake as good as Anne does. Give these coffee chocolate brownies a go and let us know what you think.
