Award-winning Perth-based artist Jordan Andreotta specialises in painting, drawing, digital and mural art. His work has been exhibited across Australia and internationally, including the 23rd Japan International Art Exchange Exhibition.
Jordan’s creative process begins with ritual: a flat-white coffee that helps him settle into the studio and find his focused headspace. This daily pause has become as integral to his practice as the brushstrokes themselves, making his participation in The Art Cup Project particularly meaningful.
The artwork chosen for his cup emerges from years spent in Western Australia’s Midwest region—a personal meditation on his enduring bond with the land. The outback’s raw beauty, ancient history, and rugged resilience have profoundly shaped both his identity and artistic journey. The figure’s flowing drapery echoes this landscape, emphasising the spiritual connection between humanity and environment that defines his work.
Jordan selected this particular piece because it holds both warmth and mystery, inviting contemplation in the same way his morning coffee ritual does. The artwork feels meditative, capturing those small pauses when we stop and breathe—moments suspended in time, much like the act of taking a coffee break from our busy schedules. By translating this emotionally expansive image onto a functional cup, Jordan explores how we engage with art beyond gallery walls, bringing contemplative beauty into everyday moments.
