Payton is the creative force behind Raye Studio, a small design studio in Bunbury, WA. With a Bachelor of Design in Graphic and Spatial Design and film/TV industry experience, they’ve explored various creative mediums both digitally and physically, learning the value of surrounding themselves with passionate, like-minded people.
Their art cup features “Hometime,” inspired by Queenslander homes encountered while working in regional northern Queensland during 2021. These charming facades embodied comfort and their inhabitants’ unique characteristics, showcasing how homes reflect their owners’ personalities in every detail.
Using colour blocking and collage-style techniques, Payton created this piece during recent societal upheaval, capturing the solace found in familiar spaces. Like decorating with cherished odds and ends, the artwork transforms a mere house into a cherished home.
Currently working at an art gallery in customer service and installation, Payton witnesses art’s transformative power daily. They believe creative exploration challenges perspectives, fosters diverse thinking, and creates spaces for expression—essential for societal progression and evolution.
