Chemex T-Shirt

June 2020, we ran a t-shirt competition to show our support of the creatives in our local community. The arts sector – much like the hospitality industry – was hit hard by the events of COVID-19. As you may have noticed, projects were put on hold (or cancelled) and lots of uncertainty was in the air.

It was a challenging time, to say the least.

We wanted to show our support of the arts industry by running a competition!

We set out a challenge for creatives to design a t-shirt for us! The winners would have their design printed on a t-shirt by Project Print Co. and we would sell the shirts with ALL PROFITS going straight to the designer. Through this competition, we hoped to bring awareness to the creative whilst also giving them a source of income.

The t-shirt design had to follow these rules:

1. Involve coffee and/or tea
2. Be black and white
3. Nothing crass or offensive
4. And, made by you of course!

We were overwhelmed with the response we received! So many incredible t-shirt designs. We would like to say a big thank you to the many creatives that sent in their coffee/tea design. It was such a pleasure receiving your unique t-shirt design and reading the kind messages that came along with them.

We love this clean design. The coffee grind falling into the Chemex is beautifully detailed and the coffee beans beside the gadget is a lovely touch. It’s such an eye-grabbing design. It was hard to look away when we first saw it. Beautiful work Talitha.

These shirts are available to pre-order now and will arrive by the end of June. We’re printing only 25 of each design and will be increasing supply depending on the demand of the t-shirt.
