Our Rwanda Nyamiyaga G.1 Espresso from our Single Origin Range is 100% bourbon varietal and versatile for the home barista.

Sit back, enjoy and relax knowing you’re supporting small farms. After being hand-picked, the station team selects the ripest cherries and they wash and sort them, keeping only the ripest. Once they have hand-selected these cherries, they dry this variety of Bourbon in the sun for 10-12 days for a natural fermentation of the sugar.

Nyamiyaga Station is run and operated by Rwacf and is located in the South-Western region of Rwanda. Here, they offer the over 2000 farmers that process their cherries here, three processing methods: Fully washed, Natural and Honey. The Farmers have their fruit processed at this station because they don’t have the facilities on their own farms. The average size of a Rwandan farm is just 1 hectare. Farmers using this station are also supported by Rwacof’s Foundation and Farmer Hub Initiative, which aims to support coffee farming to improve conditions. Roasted for espresso, our Rwanda Nyamiyaga G.1 is a grade 1 coffee.

What is so special about Singles? Single-origin coffees are small-batch roasts that come from one specific growing area within a country. Have a look at your coffee beans to see where they’ve come from. Even more specific is a microlot coffee, which comes from only one growing area or plot on a single farm. Singles and microlots allow the consumer to understand and appreciate a specific coffee for its own unique flavour profile and distinct characteristics. They also help to establish traceability from farm to cup.
