Our PNG Baroida Natural Espresso from our Single Origin Range is a delicious cherry, chocolate and passionfruit high-quality coffee. It will offer the home barista a delicious cup no matter the set-up. 

We know Baroida Estate for consistently producing the highest quality coffee from Papua New Guinea. Ben Colbran, a New Zealander, founded this estate in the 1960s and it is now managed by his son Nicol. In the beginning, they grew fruits and vegetables. Although there have been challenges along the way, the family says it’s all worth it! PNG Baroida Natural Espresso gets its name from the Baroida spirit, believed by locals to live in a large river rock sitting in one of the main rivers flowing through the estate.

The rock has remained there for as long as anyone can remember, and no flood has shifted it. Meticulous separation for quality control, high-quality estate coffee that has a throwback to ‘old fashioned’ systems that have been in place since the late 60s.

What is so special about Singles? Single-origin coffees are small-batch roasts that come from one specific growing area within a country. Have a look at your coffee beans to see where they’ve come from. Even more specific is a microlot coffee, which comes from only one growing area or plot on a single farm. Singles and microlots allow the consumer to understand and appreciate a specific coffee for its own unique flavour profile and distinct characteristics. They also help to establish traceability from farm to cup.
