FILTER SINGLE ORIGIN Colombia Popayan Decaf

Our new Single Origin Filter was roasted for Fleur Cassidy to enjoy as decaf. What does one do if one is a filter coffee drinker who also drinks decaf and owns a coffee roasting business? Roast an exceptional decaf for filter of course!

The decaffeination technique originates in Colombia, and it is unique in that the caffeine is extracted from the bean using sugar cane and water. The green beans are steamed, submerged in Springwater and then for 8 hours they soak with sugar cane acetate which dissolves the caffeine naturally. The result? An enhanced sweetness, with no compromise to the full flavour profile and mouthfeels.

What is so special about Singles? Single-origin coffees are small-batch roasts from a specific growing area within a country. Have a look at your coffee beans to see where they’ve come from. Even more specific is a microlot coffee, which comes from only one growing area or plot on a single farm. Singles and microlots allow the consumer to understand and appreciate a specific coffee for its own unique flavour profile and distinct characteristics. They also help to establish traceability from farm to cup.
