Ethiopia Natural Haro Lebetu is a delicious microlot coffee from the producer Welichu Wachu. Coffee is grown in what is known locally as ‘coffee gardens’ and often 1000 trees per hectare.
This natural coffee has undergone a very labour intensive process. Firstly, hand sorting takes place to remove green and under ripe cherries. The coffee beans are then spread on drying tables. The drying process can take up to 12 days with the drying beds raked every hour. This ensures that the coffee cherries dry evenly. The beds are covered during the midday heat to prevent over exposure. It is no wonder with all of this care the flavour in the cup is so amazing. We think you will love the Ethiopia Natural Haro Lebetu, especially if you love black filter coffee.
Single origin coffees and particularly microlot coffees, provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about a particular growing region, processing and farming methods. For more information on this, check out our blog on the Bean to Cup Journey.
