Our latest Espresso Single Origin Nicaragua Oscar Torres Rivera is a from the Torres family farm, established a decade ago, the Torres family are committed to cultivating specialty coffee and that is not all. In this journey, they have not only created exceptional coffee but also the legacy of innovation and dedication to excellence. Oscar, a second-generation coffee producer, overseas a family oriented farm where each family member plays a crucial role. The harvest of this Catuai varietal takes place in December – April and is then dried for 15 days. This coffee is naturally processed which means the coffee cherry is left on the green bean during the drying stage. By leaving the cherry, the green bean soaks up the fruity flavours from the Cascara. This process offers a flavoursome cup that can really wow the drinker on the first sip.
What is so special about Singles? Single-origin coffees are small-batch roasts from a specific growing area within a country. Have a look at your coffee beans to see where they’ve come from. Even more specific is a microlot coffee, which comes from only one growing area or plot on a single farm. Singles and microlots allow the consumer to understand and appreciate a specific coffee for its own unique flavour profile and distinct characteristics. They also help to establish traceability from farm to cup.
