From Colombia to our roastery, these natural coffee beans offer a superb cup.
Colombia is the 3rd largest producer of coffee in the world. The region produces almost exclusively Arabica coffee beans.
These Colombia natural coffee beans are from the passionate farmers Diofanor Ruiz and Jairo Arcila.
The farm is located in Pijao, which is located in the south-eastern part of Quindio.
There are 22 growing regions in Colombia which are divided into 3 main zones: Northern, Central & Southern. Each zone lends a slightly different flavour profile.
Coffee beans from northern areas present more chocolate and nutty characteristics whilst southern areas show more acidity with hints of citrus.
Ruiz, Arcila and their team begin the process by carefully handpicking the coffee cherries. Only the most delicious and healthiest cherries are chosen. Next, they’re transported to La Pradera where the cherries are exposed to anaerobic fermentation for 16 hours. This allows for a higher level of control. After, the beans then move from fermenting to concrete patios for 3 days. Lastly, the cherries are dried in a Guardiola at 40 degrees.
You’ll experience a yummy combination of black cherry, fortified wine and dark cocoa.
Roasted to perfection by our Karvan team, drink these beans as filter to experience the rich, sweet and warm flavours these beans have to offer. Perfect for these cooler mornings.
