There has been a lot of excitement in our roastery with the arrival of these Colombia Buenos Aires coffee beans.
A cup of Colombia Buenos Aires coffee beans will take you on a flavour journey unlike any other. From the first sip, you’ll experience lively bursts of sweet acidity that finishes bold and smooth just as if you’re drinking a glass of port.
These beans have been roasted for filter. They will taste exceptional in your morning cup of batch. We recommend using a Moccamaster or Aeropress to really experience the layers of flavour these coffee beans offer.
The farm itself is covered with beautiful rich greenery – it’s a coffee cherry’s dream. With temperature ranging from 18-28 degrees C and an average annual rainfall of 1700-2000mm, the plants are spoiled with perfect conditions.
Grown by Jairo Arcila at Finca Buenos Aires. Jairo is renowned for his cultivation of specialty varietals throughout Colombia. The most popular being tabi, gesha and pink bourbon.
“Tabi” means “good” in the Guambiano (a native Colombian tribe). And, well, it’s definitely fair to say that these beans live up to its name (to say the least!)
These Buenos Aires coffee beans have been carefully handpicked and sorted at Jairo’s farm in Armenia, Quindio. Only the ripest coffee cherries make it past the selection process. They’re then taken to Cofinet’s processing station which is only 500 meters away.
The coffee beans are treated with a dry fermentation for 16 hours. This dry fermentation makes sure the cherries are exposed to a specific amount of oxygen that will give the cup of coffee a full body.
They are then hand sorted for a second time and placed in parabolic dryers. Once they’ve reached their ideal moisture content they’re taken out.
These coffee beans taste vastly different from other naturally processed beans. There’s the perfect balance of sweetness with acidity that makes them a loved cup by every pallette.
