Did you know Costa Rica is the only country where it’s illegal to grow any other coffee except for 100% Arabica (the highest quality)! This was a government initiative put forward to keep quality consistent. The proof is in the pudding. Pour yourself a cup of these beans and let the flavour speak for itself.
Sustainability is at the heart of all operations at CoopeTarrazu. The coffee cooperative have implemented the program, “Coffee, Culture, Quality of Life,” which is a plan that oversees their environmental impact. Through this plan, the farm makes changes where possible to lower carbon emissions, reduce waste and take care of the land they reside on.
CoopeTarrazu offers free seed and soil analyses to the community. This has allowed farmers to understand the environment in a whole different light. Farmers have acquired more knowledge of the various ecosystems that surround the region and understand the specific soil needs required for ultimate sustainable farming.
Funds raised through the sale of the green bean will be invested into the supply of organic fertiliser and shade trees to member producers of CoopeTarrazu.
With a cupping score of 86.25, these coffee beans are worthy of your attention.
In a cup of this coffee you’ll experience glorious tropical fruit notes with hints of red wine. If you’re feeling like it was time you took a holiday… here’s your ticket. Full silky body that carries popping passionfruit acidity that tickles your taste buds to finish.
