When I decided to host annual fundraising afternoon teas I became obsessed with collecting English china to give it that vintage look. I scoured fairs, thrift shops, garage sales and any place that I thought may have some old china for me.
I perhaps went a bit over board and now have quite a collection. As the afternoon tea is only once a year it seemed like a fantastic idea to put the collection to use as a way of rewarding our Facebook family.
Our first morning tea went to Donna Taylor, who has been a loyal and regular contributor to our Leaf Bean Machine Facebook page. Donna invited three adult friends and two ten year old girls and so we set to work preparing the goodies. The colour purple had been requested as the theme and so we picked out the tea cups etc to suit. The girls had smarties, teddy bear bikkies and icing to create some treats for everyone and cupcakes were courtesy of Sugar and Nice. A lovely morning was had by all, sipping 4 different Pure Teas: Pai Mu Tan to clean the palate, English Breakfast Organic, Japanese Morning Dew and an iced Strawberry and Champagne Sencha to finish.
