Through our involvement and sponsorship of the St Vinnies CEO Sleepout we have met some gorgeous people doing amazing things for WA youth.
Jen McGilvray and Cath McDougall from Prepare Produce Provide and 5000 meals are two incredible ladies who in their spare time (they are both teachers so spare time is scarce) organize events connecting people – whether it be organisations like Food Rescue and meals for the homeless, workshops for Home Economics teachers or gourmet lunches in conjunction with Margaret River Gourmet Escape – these ladies are awesome!
The setting for lunch on the Friday was the South West Institute of Technology in Margaret River and thanks to chefs Mark Olive and Josh Whiteland from Koomal Dreaming the students prepared some incredible food which we enjoyed under the shade of stunning Plane trees. The lunch was complemented by Happs wines and finished off with a wattleseed ice-cream affogato which we helped the students to prepare.
A delicious lunch and a great learning and sharing experience for all involved. We hope that we get asked to be involved again next year 🙂
Community training sessions like this one have inspired us to create ‘Coffee for Classes’ a programme that we are very excited about. You can be involved too….
