Not really knowing what I was getting in to and feeling like I had to do Littlesweet Baking proud I set everything out first. I am definitely a novice!
At this point the Karvan Coffee Blend #3 filter smelt so divine that I was tempted to have a few sips…..I couldn’t help but drink it! So lucky for the thermos of coffee as I had another cup ready to go. I had some beautiful free range eggs to match the colour of my kitchen bench waiting for the cooled melted butter and so lightly stirred those together.
Next step on the very easy to follow instructions was to empty the packet of dry ingredients and all of the wet ingredients, including the coffee (if you haven’t drunk it like I did to the first cup!) into a bowl.
Mix into a smooth, runny batter, pour into your lined tin, pass the bowl to the waiting seagull and pop into the oven. Be prepared for a delightful smell. It seemed like I had just made the buttercream icing and cleaned up and the cake was ready. Once cooled I iced it like the true novice that I am and waited for the requests to start pouring in for a slice. So delicious and easy that I bought another packet. Thanks Megan, you helped me pretend to be mother of the year!
