Fleur is a ceramic artist whose work explores human narratives and daily rituals through porcelain sculptures. She views her role as “noticing to notice,” interpreting emotions and experiences that resonate universally. Her children serve as primary muses, and as they mature, her work becomes increasingly emotive and complex, addressing contemporary challenges facing humanity and the natural world.
Currently exhibiting at Linton Kay galleries and found in Fremantle arts centre, Fleur recently completed a two-year exhibition. Her upcoming projects include a community-based giant arc installation promoting backyard transformation across Western Australian schools, and participation in the International Clay Festival in New South Wales as one of ten master artists.
Her biodegradable cup artwork features a child playing hide-and-seek, symbolizing hope and love. During COVID-19, she began incorporating “love” into her work to combat isolation and provide comfort. Fleur emphasizes art’s critical importance for mental health, healing, and creative expression, particularly during challenging times when arts provide essential nourishment for the human spirit.
