Brad Cassidy, Director
Brad is a butcher by trade but has been working for himself for about 25 years. His first business was via a family opportunity and was a partnership in a restaurant in Perth. Specialising in Mexican food, Brad spent the next 16 years in the hospitality industry with the last restaurant being Santa Fe in Subiaco. After a break in Asia, Commercial Kitchen Systems was purchased, a business specialising in top end food production equipment. This was successful and after 6 years it was time for a break with the family and a trip around Australia. In 2010, Caffe Landucci (now Leaf Bean Machine) was purchased for a new challenge, still in hospitality. Brad believes that 'good old fashioned' service is the secret to success and combined with a great team that anything is possible.
Fleur Cassidy, Director
Fleur completed a Bachelor of Education at Curtin University and decided to have a year off working in an industry that she had grown up with. Her family were involved in hotels and while she was studying she worked casually in cafes/hotels. During this year she met Brad and when he decided to buy a second restaurant it made sense to run one each. In 1998 they sold to travel Asia and start a family. After Ethan was born in 1999 Fleur worked part time at Commercial Kitchen Systems job sharing with the accounts person. Leaf Bean Machine is an opportunity for Fleur to realise a long term interest in tea and coffee. Fleur believes in looking after people as she would like to be looked after and that everyone should be passionate about what they do.
Our Team
Brad Cassidy, Roaster - Brad enjoyed cooking so much in the restaurants that roasting his own brand of coffee named Karvan to pay homage to their family caravan journey, seemed the natural thing to do.
Tom Silk, Senior Service Technician - Tom has worked with sewing machine maintenance for most of his career. Leaf Bean Machine has been a new challenge for Tom and he has risen to the occasion preventing our machines from breaking down due to his thoroughness.
Ralph Ender, Logistics - Ralph probably sees our customers more regularly than anyone else. All his experience combine to keep him looking after everyone well and his interest in all things technical will also be at help in our service department.
Denise McAtee, Retail Sales - Denise is a hairdresser by trade, Brad's sister and a lovely person. She regularly visits Leaf Bean Machines retail customers, keeping them organised and looking for new business. This was a new challenge for Denise, and like Tom she has risen to the occasion.
Gerlinde Rupp, Customer Service - Gerlinde migrated to Australia 5 years ago to live the Australian dream and she is passionate about working for a family operated business where she can really make a difference. She loves black coffee and we love that she decided to make a difference with us.
